A stakeholder is someone who holds a stake in an enterprise, usually a business. It is derivitave of the word "stockholder," but is broader, including stockholders, but also creditors, employees, anyone else with an interest in the enterprise.

It is possible to not know it, I guess. Especially if you are a trust fund baby.
