I was extracting an Allen screw with a screw extractor, when the screw extractor broke inside the screw. Does anyone know how to extract a screw extractor within a screw?

If by screw extractor you are talking about an easy out it can be tough. The easy out is made of pretty hard stuff and can be hard to drill. They do make drill bits that can do it but they are pricey. If thte piece can be put under a drill press it would make it easier. I would get a good drill bit and turn it slow with plently of lube and try to get a hole to use another extractor. I know that I am not answering your question but without seeing what you are working on it is tough. I used a cobalt bit to remove an easy out. I got the bit from a tool maker. Don't know where you would buy them. But good luck and don't get discouraged and start throwing things. Been there done that and the screw is still in the hole.

First a word about bolt and screw toughness. The standard
hardware store screws and bolts have a toughness rating of
2. You can buy hex head bolts up to grade 8. An Allen set screw
or an Allen bolt is grade 9. That's the toughest bolts YOU can buy.

A screw extract er is even harder and it is hard all the way
through. In order to extract the screw extract er you will need a
steady hand and a solid carbide drill bit. (you can't buy them
in a hardware store. You'll need to find a machinist supply
house.

Now to the nitty gritty. You'll need to drill out the center of the
"easy-out" then with a chisel or drift punch, collapse the screw
extract er. Now start over with the Allen screw.

I almost didn't answer this question. I have a problem with
people who do not use the right tool for the job.

Allen head screws are generally very hard steel and so are the easy outs. I do not know what size you are dealing with but if you can get a good chisel on it and make a slot, maybe you can turn it out using an impact screw driver...
