I grew up listening to Marty and Joe. I cried all day yesterday, he meant so much to the Reds and to Cincinnati. He will be missed. Make sure that everybody goes the HOF web site and vote for Joe!
He will be smiling down on the Reds this coming year!!
Marty, my prayers are with you. I know that you and Joe were together for 28 years, you two spent more time together then with your wives. I cannot imagine baseball without you guys!

I believe Joe was the all-time youngest player ever to participate in the major leagues. I remember Joe as a pitcher. Those (late 40s, early 50's) were definitely not the glory days for the Cincinnati Reds. Otherwise he would have had a much better record.
Like Joe Garagiola and Bob Uecker, he was more famous as an announcer than as a player. He was involved in many charitable enterprises in southwestern Ohio. We'll miss him sorely.

He was the youngest player ever to appear in a major league game during the modern era, pitching 2/3 of an inning for the Cincinnati Reds on June 10, 1944, at the age of 15 years, 10 months, and 11 days.

He would've been a WAY better pitcher, if the Reds were better. He also held many charitable events that helped the community become a better place, and I wish the best for Joe Nuxhall with the angels, and best wishes to the Nuxhall family

I never got to see him, so my only Nuxhall memory is from Married With Children. When Al was putting together his will, the only possessions that he had to claim were a Beta tape and a Joe Nuxhall baseball card.
