If your telephone company is one of the "Bells" or AT&T, the next time you get a worrysome cal, hang up, wait five seconds, then dial *57, and follow the instructions in the recording.

It will give you a toll-free number to call to get the results of the trace, so have a pen handy.

If you are getting harassing, unwanted calls, just dial 0 (zero) and ask to speak to a supervisor. When they come on the line, tell them about your problem and they will either give you a toll-free number to call during business hours or they will connect you to their security people. Tell the security person you want a "trap" put on your line for two weeks ( the longest they will do it). When you get a nasty call, log the time and call the security center the next day and give them that info. They will trace your call log for an incoming call at that time and it will show where it originated. After the "trap" has run for two weeks and the calls logged, you will be asked if you want to prosecute the offender. Say "yes" and the info will be given to your local police dept. and state's attorney office. They will prosecute the offender and they will never know who trapped them for sure. They can guess from their cell................while avoiding the advances of their cellmate.

That depends, are you talking about private calls not showing anything on Caller ID?

If you are, check with your phone company to see if they offer anonymous call rejection.
