It isn't what cupped tires will cause so much as what caused them to cup. The cupping is decreasing the life of the tread. It may be because you let them go too long without rotating them, but cupping is more normally an indication of bad shock absorbers or struts. Improper pressure will cause excess wear in the center when high or on the sides when too low, but not cupping. Let a good tire or front end shop evaluate it.

Cupped tires are caused by radial run-out, axial run-out bent wheels or a poor wheel / balance job long ago. It can also be caused by whipped out struts and or shocks. The only way to make sure the tires can be saved is to go to: Hunter GSP 9700 wheel balancer on the Net. When you open the page on the upper right corner click on balancer location. It' will open a new page where you enter your Zip Code: and how far you are willing to travel to have your tires on this world class machine. The operator of the machine can pretty much size up weather the tires are worth balancing. It's so advanced it can distinguish a bad wheel or bad tire before they start the balancing procedure.

Most likely lack of rotation or worn struts. No alignment can be done for 30.00 if you want it done right and the snap on whatever is not the only accurate tire balancer in the industry. I would go to a reputable repair facility that does a free inspection and they can direct you toward fixing the problem.

well 2 possibilities:

either the front end suspension is out of whack and causing the tires to wear uneven
The fix is a proper front end alignment -

The other is that the tires were either over or under the PSI rating that it recommends on the side of the tire.

Either way both front tires should be replaced, and I would recommend a front end alignment.
