Take into consideration that weather you knew or didn't know...you would still be considered as an accomplice by law and if you were seen with your friend at the time of the crime you would also get arrested (and have to get a lawyer and go to court). At the very least, you tell your friend to steal when they are NOT with you. Just paying for a lawyer to get you off will be expensive enough, even if you are 100% innocent. Too much trouble for you when your friend is trying to pocket something that is worth far less than your freedom and innocence.

If they don't have money and they were stealing, i would understand if it was something they needed.
When I was younger, my parents never gave me any money so when I started my period, I had to steal tampons from the store. I never told my friend until a long time later. But they were supportive.

If it was a good friend I would privately take him or her aside and question the behavior while expressing a genuine concern for them. Definitely discourage this type of behavior without putting them down as a person. You never know this could have been a one time thing which they may never repeat. Try to encourage them to return the item.

i would let her/him know how degrading it is to steal and just to be on the safe side don't go intoany stores with them. if they get caught and you are with them it falls back on you too. i had a friend the went to jail because her friend was stealing and the clerk knew they were together. just a warning

My friends did that once, I was so mad at them. I really believe in karma, so yeah. As the first person said, tell them about karma, and obviously they should know not to steal.

if it is like from a store i would tell them that it is wrong and they could ruin there life (by going to jail) if they get caught, and tell them taht they should turn themselves in...if it is serious i would probably tell an adult i trust too
if it is just like an eraser from a friend i wouldn' think much of it unless the person (who the eraser was stolen form) was really worried about it for some reason.....then i would tell the theft to give it back and if they dont i would tel lhte "Victim"

Talk to your friend alone and try to convince him that what he /she did is wrong. Sometimes they do things because they could not afford to buy those things, so they are tempted to get things..
Ask your friend why he /she did? Advise her/him not to do it again, because it is wrong and it might have negative effect on him/her. Never judge your friend for what he did, give him/her a chance to change.... You are his/her friend and you really could make a difference in his/her life.
It would really feel good to be able help someone change his life , you know.... It would make someone happy.....

Probably nothing. If they were stealing someone's personal possession, then I would probably call them an idiot and tell them to give it back, but if they're shoplifting, I really don't think that's a big deal.

Tell her to stop! If she steals when your with her your an accessory to the crime , you can also be arrested. If she refuses don't hang out with her anymore.
