It would be good to know exactly where the money for special needs in schools goes exactly. I don't think we will ever really know. You could try asking your local school for a breakdown of just where the money goes and how it is spent. As for children in need, I would love to know where all the millions of £'s goes. It certainly doesn't help any of the children who need it most in my area!

Is that 20million spread over a millenium? Latest figures show that all the money spent on 'literacy hour' a few years ago have made minimal difference to reading ages - never mind for children with SEN.
Seriously, if a school has a specialist teacher or TA, their hours are shared between several pupils. If you had a child with a statement of SEN, recommending 25 hours TA support per week, there is no guarantee YOUR child would get 25hours 1:1 support - the TA would be contracted for 25 hours a week, but would work with several pupils - I know, I've done it.

I hope that 20 million is not for the whole U.S.
By the way this question is vague at best.
