Cleaning window isn't just about what products to use but how to go about doing it properly. Most of us do it wrong!
You really need to open the link, it may very well surprise you when you read it.

Ammonia cuts heavy greasy soil and vinegar helps remove hard water spots.
Wipe very dirty windows with a damp cloth. Don't rub dirt because it will scratch the glass. A vacuum cleaner with an attachment will work for this job, too. When using a squeegee, tilt at an angle to the glass, so only about one-inch of the rubber blade presses lightly against the top of the window glass.

PS I had no clue until I looked it up how much I didn't know about cleaning windows. Maybe it's because I don't do it enough.
I use windex and paper towels.

Just follow the scientific method and you can't go wrong. Have water be your control, and have around three variables. maybe vinegar, water and vinegar in equal parts, and windex. Or you can make all the variables commercial cleaners, or you can make the variables home remedies. Grandparents might be a good source for home remodies for cleaning glass. Also make sure you are cleaning the same stain. If your shower doors (the glass kind) are dirty take a before pic, then tape off an area for each one (verticaly separated like

with the control in one and the variables in the other) if you separate them horizontally, they cleaning agents will run together voiding all results. If you have shower curtains, try spraying the outside windows with a garden hose, unless you have a whole house water filter, which would take out the minerals that cause water spots. If you do have a filter ask your folks to set it to bypass so you can do your experiment.

Be sure to include lots of info about each substance you use in your experiment. Follow Purples general guideline for this. You should have also gotten information about the layout you are expected to have. Also Wikapedia is not a true source of information as it was written by people like you and I, not professionals on the subject. So they may or may not take it as a resource.

Well since it's a science experiment you should buy a least 3 different window cleaners and put like a pasta stain or oil stain on the window. Test which one works best and that way you answer will be more accurate. The most time it will take up it an hour. I think you can give that away!

Its a research paper on background of your exp. Ex. Write 7-8 paragraphs about cleaners {not about ur experiment!} such as when they were made, how their made, how their being advanced, and ect. You have to use an enclopedia, book, and internet article for this. These are the miniumim required for your exp.

vinegar with a little ammonia added to water. Works the best using an old t-shirt to wipe the dirt off and an old t-shirt for drying.
