Period a week late..and have had lighter periods for 3 months!?

Iam due to go for a soft tissue scan next week - for pains ive been getting for a while now-always on my right side. today i have started bleeding-but it was only a couple of hours and very very light. I have had a bad pain in my right side a few times and it has taken my breath away.

Sometimes a hormone imbalance can cause the periods to be lighter. As for the pain in the right side cysts depending on their size can do this.

The ultrasound will try to help your doctor to figure out what could be causing this.
