I asked Democrats if they ended up in the higher tax bracket would they vote Republican, 80 percent said they would change parties based on higher tax rate. Does that surprise you?

Yes it does. Usually they become Republicans when they've been a victim of crime.

Well, actually it shouldn't surprise me. You finally become successful, and then you hear idiots like Charlie Rangel and other Democrat leaders telling you how the rich are taking advantage of the poor, and you say to yourself "I never took advantage of the poor. Come to think of it, I don't even know how you'd do that."

And then you'd start to resent how these Dems think the answer to everything is to soak YOU!

Nope. There not Democrats for the right reasons. They are Democrats because they are selfish. They are willing to sell out if it benefits them. That of course makes them part of the problem. If they would keep their principles intact they could make a difference.
It should be noted though, that a lot of Democrats that get wealthy that turn into Republicans. end up giving more to worthwhile charities (they give back MUCH more money than if they were heavily taxed on their profits) than if they were always Republican. Those Republicans are NOT part of the problem.

Technically, sure. fairly, no. All presidents have been Republican or Democratic for the reason that 1853. in the previous that 2 Whigs have been elected, William Henry Harrison and Zachary Taylor. That became in the previous the Republican party have been based. the closest everybody has come is 1912. Woodrow Wilson gained 40-one% of the vote. Theodore Roosevelt, working as a innovative, have been given 27%. The Republican incumbent, William Howard Taft, have been given 23%. there became a Socialist candidate who have been given 6%.

One must remember we are talking about Dems here...and how they think. Would it surprise anyone that rich Dems give less to charity than their Rep counterparts?
I think the real lesson here is that Dems are greedy as the poster said 80% of them, if they made more money would want to work with the party that they persieve to be for lower taxes. Why? Because they don't want to give their money to lazy people who CAN provide for themselves?
Truth is as most Americans become older, wiser, and more productive members of soccity they do become Republicans. Not to pay less in taxes... but because only with age does true wisdom come to ones self.

That is surprising, considering the wealth behind the Democratic party.

I wonder what drives the trailer-bound from the Midwest to the Republican party, then?

Yeah because Warren Buffet, America's second richest man, switched parties when he became rich...

Huh?

He's still a big time liberal democrat?

He just suggested to congress that we should raise taxes even higher?

Ok then John Kerry and John Edwards must've switched parties right?

No?

How about Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Oprah Winfrey, and most of Hollywood?

All Democrats.

Case closed.

Because when you join the Republican party officially, you must take an oath to never tell the truth to anyone anytime, and don't ever ever pay income taxes......that's for the little people they say. suckers.

Nothing about greed surprises me. Did you ask them if they like having a military? Paved roads and safe bridges? Police to patrol their gated communities?
