Does it make it more difficult to find a good paying job. Are potential employers able to find out whither or not you were diagnoised as learning disabled. Even with a college degree from an acredited school?

Probably so, but is against the law.
If an employer doesn't want you he will find a way to protect himself from wrongful hiring practices.
don't mention it at all
it's nobodys business
as long as you do your job well is what counts
and alot of companies are required to hire a cretain # of so called token employees even still

Ok I dont know why you are asking this because its you or for your own research but for me the answer is Yes.Its hard.If you have a colledge degree I would think you would be fine.My proble is discalcula and the fact that I cant pass the math on the Ged.No one will hire me.My math is 6th grade level and Im smart in many other ways but the only jobs I can get are manual and it really bites.I was fortunate enough to get a job in a factory but I only make like $9 an hour .Its so frustrating.Im even bilingual.Im an artist.Ive sold a few peices of my work but I cant even go to culinary school and learn to cook without a Ged.Im a great cook.I may write my own cook book but thats off subject. If you have a diploma however you got it.Simply act self confident and beleive in yourself.Thats half of the game.Remember you are as good as anybody else. Do It. I wish I had one.

If you have a college degree then good for you. Sometimes we are diagnosed as children with learning disabilities when we are just plain lazy. We eventually grow up and depending on the diagnoses we can tell for our selves if they were factual or just lazyness. Now this is my opinion because I was in special ed classes as a kid and am now in college and made the deans and the president of the colleges list I was also invited to join the National Scholars Honor Society so I rest my case. I don't think an employer will check to see and no where on the application does it say learning disabled I think most want to know physical disablities for insurance purposes but they should go by experience and college level and degree. Good Luck I hope you get the job you seek.

I have a learning disability and it is none of the employer's business. They can't discriminate against you because of a learning disability. As long as you graduate from a respectable university with at least 3.50 GPA, and you maintain your resume and career portfolio (This means keeping all academic records/ awards and class projects that you did) employers will never found out about your learning disability. I'm keeping a very thorough record of everything while I'm going to college in a portfolio brief case. So far my portfolio is around 70-80 pages long. It is going with every project that I do and every award that I received while in college.

Absolutely not. I know many people considered "learning disabled" who have excellent careers. Many have had trouble in the usual subjects, but have gifts in other areas such as art/music.

In our society it is but that's just what others accept. thay don't like anything that is different then what is statis quo. You can be anything you want. You have to work harder than others to do it though which i think makes you a hero. I don't have a learning dissability but i have a.d.d and i have to consentrate more than other people. it just makes us special.

Yes, it's hard, especially in an already small, backwards Appalachian town that already depends on nepotism.
