.Simplify: 5(x+3)(2x+5)?
the idea is distribution and putting variable and numerical values separately. Lets do it.
5(x+3)(2x+5) my way of approaching this kind of question is to multiple the (x+3)(2x+5) then the 5.
So what is (x+3)(2x+5)?
its x*2x + x*5 + 3*2x + 3*5 here since all the signs are positive, so you are not necessary need to worry about negative negative or negative positive.
x*2x + x*5 + 3*2x + 3*5 =
2(x*x) + 5x + 6x + 15 =
2x^2 +(5+6)x + 15 =
2x^2 + 11x + 15.
Okay you got the first part, then you need to multiple 2x^2 + 11x + 15.by 5.
(2x^2 + 11x + 15.)*5 =
5*2x^2 + 5*11x + 15*5 =
10x^2 + 55x + 75 here you dont times the number of degree, only the coefficient constant.
You get 10x^2 + 55x + 75
Answer:10x^2 + 55x + 75 this form is usually correct but my instructor always arrange in this form : 75 + 55x + 10x^2
Its the same thing.

multiply 5(x+3) = 5X + 15
Multiply (5X + 15) by (2X+5) this is where the trick is
Multiply 5x*2x = 10x^2
multiply 5x*5 = 25X
multiply 15*2x=30x
multiply 15*15=225
Add these four together
= 10x*2 + 25x+30x+225
= 10x*2 + 55x+225

5(x + 3) (2x + 5)
expand the brackets
(5x + 15) (2x + 5)
first you take the first term which is 5x and multiply it by 2x + 5
it's like expanding the brackets
and then you take the second term which is 15 and multiply it with 2x + 5
you now have
10x^2 + 25x + 30x + 75
you then simplify where you can
and your final answer is
10x^2 + 55x + 75
hope that helps =)
oh and btw
its funny how everyone says its so easy yet they've all gotten it wrong hehe

do the easiest multiplication first.
distribute 5 into (x+3)
(5x+15) (2x+5)
Then FOIL
First Outside Inside Last
5x(2x) + 5x (5) + 15(2x)+ 15 (5)
10 x^2+25x+30x+75
10 x^2+55x+75

(5*x + 5*3)*(2x + 5)
= (5x + 15)*(2x + 5)
= (5x*2x + 5x*5) + (15*2x + 15*5)
= (10x^2 + 25x) + (30x + 75)
= 10x^2 + 25x + 30x +75
= 10x^2 + 55x + 75
= 5(2x^2 + 11x + 15)

5 times x equals 5x
then 5 times 3 equals 15... so it would change to (5x + 15)(2x+5) then you multiply 2x by 5x = 10x + (15 times 5)
your answer would be 10x + 75... sorry if this is wrong or it doesnt help... but i am pretty sure this is right... confusing yeah?
