or is it simply being done to generate more sales and profits for drug makers? What would be wrong with the old way of doing things ..you know where your doctors told you about what pills you needed?

DID YOU KNOW THIS?

#1. The U.S.A. and New Zealand are the only countries in the whole world that allow advertising on television of pharmaceuticals.

#2. There is actually an agency that creates acronyms names for medical syndromes! In other words they make up a disorder, make up a name for it and the drug companies produces a PILL! ( I have thought this for years)

#3. Americans go to their Doctors and drive them crazy asking for pills they have heard advertised on television for medical problems they think they have.

#4. For every $1 spent on drug advertising, $4 is made in sales!

#5. The U.S.A. only amounts to 4.5% of the worlds population but over 65% of American homes take prescription drugs!

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Please by our pill to cure your ailment, but be aware that of possible side effects like vomiting, diarreah, and increased blood pressure. Also a small sample of people who have taken this drug have died mysteriously, but not to worry, as this is only a very small sample and as 95% of pill takers do not die right away.

I'm in favor of free enterprise and opposed to government rules and controls.

I assume you like your paycheck and so you're for free enterprise as well, correct?

I think if a company wants to pay to have their product in a commercial that is their choice. I am not influenced by them and I can always turn the channel.

If they stopped being aired I would miss laughing at the long list of side effects quickly listed, because they seem worse than whatever ailment the product was made to treat.

It is plain to see that the pharmaceutical companies don't pay for these expensive ads, and most certainly their share holders do not either.......It is the consumer who pays and at a time that they are the most vulnerable. Free enterprise and greed. Pure and simple.

National health insurance is our only salvation !

They allow alcohol ads on TV. They can allow pharmaceuticals. It's up to the individual to purchase the medication - no one is forcing anyone to buy it.
