How come a lot of women that were sexually abused at a young age turn out to become promiscuous?

Strippers, porn stars, sluts a good chunk of them were molested, or raped. Why is this?

I was molested when I was younger and I can be a sexual person.
The reason is still unknown to me.

Women who were raped feel that that is all they are good for especially if it happened when they are/were young. Being raped at an early age has taught them that they are wanted for sex not for who they are. Some times they aren't given the help that they need to understand that it wasn't their fault and that they are worth more than just bieng someone's sex toy. IF you don't get the help that you need than you grow up thinking that this is the only way that men can relate to you and since you've probably developed a serious dislike of men you want to control the amount of sexual contact you have with them. Becoming a stripper or porn star means that you control the amount of interaction that you have with men,it's up to you were you have sex with the man not him.

You seem to have sampled only a small segment of the female population. Only a fraction of abused young women turn to prostitution!! The rest try to cope in many many different ways! The FBI had given at one time a figure that a large percentage of girls had been sexually abused!! The problems then emerge in many different difficulties!! Suicide; alcohol and other drug use; isolation; depression; runaways; inability to sustain a meaningful relationship, etc., etc. The effects of molestation and abuse can be life-long!! Yet, it still remains the least prosecuted. Boys' molestation is even MORE hidden and even less treated.

I think when you go through some abuse, you start to hate yourself (apart from others who did that to you) for being in that position, for being helpless, for not being able to avoid it. It grows from there leading to feeling like not being wanted, not being loved, being used and so on...
Sex is an amazing way to feel wanted and needed by others. Thats why lot of people turn towards it.

low self-esteem, confusing love and sex, desperately seeking love and receiving sex. removes all sexual taboos, hence removing aversion to stripping and prostitution. those jobs actually give them some sense of power.
