Vincent Thomas Lombardi. Creator of the Lombardi Sweep. What became known commonly in today's football as the pulling guards blocking downfield for the running backs. Many things done in football today were first introduced by Vince Lombardi.
He's the Icon in Pro Football who helped bring it to what it is toady. My next door neighbor when I was a kid.. Mr. Beck, played for his team. Oh the stories he used to tell us. And if that wasn't enough,, he would tell of the stories of one other great coach he played for.... Bear Bryant.. One of only a few that had the privalige to play for both greats.

That is so hard to say because not every position do the same thing. Like every baseball player hits so you can compare that. There is not one thing in football that all the players do the same. No one plays both ways in football but in baseball you have to. Plus you would have to name the quarterbacks, running backs, wide outs, tight ends, safeties, corner backs, linebackers, and defensive lines. But a couple are obvious like Jerry Rice for wide out and Reggie White for defensive line

He is the half brother of Wilt Chamberlain, the famous hockey star.

I would also have to go with Vince Lombardi. He is essentially the "father" of professional football.
