Media Power and the McCanns?

One child being abducted is not the worst thing that could happen. I mean know worse things happen within a mile of my house(only ask if you have a strong stomache).
Does anyone else apart from me think that the McCann case shows nothing more than the awesome power of the media?

Yes it does show the power of the media. Any other couple would still be out on a lonely search for their daughter, not holding press conferences or touring Europe's capitals with Sky News or Clarence Mitchell in tow.

The Powerful control the media for a start...

No matter what, regardless of the McCann coverage, the media are powerful. It influences us in our every day lives, culturally, economically and politically!!

Whether you chose to listen to it or not, most of the population does... why is Rupert Murdoch so rich and so clearly influential in politics!

I don't know if someone else mentioned this, but if it was a single parent who did exact same thing as the Mccanns, they would have been under scrutiny from day one for child neglect.. It's the powerful helping the powerful, cos obviously they're of an authorative figure.

Intelligent people will not be fooled by unsubstantiated reports in a newspaper or any other media. One opinion is as good as another, for that is all they are, opinions. Forget everything you have read and cast your mind back to day one. What you thought on that day is what you believe. Only your mind has been corrupted since by bad press and innuendo. Had there been no media to poison your mind you would still believe the same.

I honestly don't think the papers would've devoted so much coverage if the McCanns were working class or it was a single mother. They just represent the perfect kind of story for them- and when the McCanns were turned into suspects, the papers saw pound signs.

It's that haunting saying- the death of one is a tragedy, the death of millions is just a statistic.

Government and their friends control the media, the McCanns have high friends in Government... why thinking about it I could spend 58 days in jail without charge just for writing this.
