Yes in the the last 12 years we have become more and more like a mini USA the gap between the rich and the poor is getting wider and wider.
I also understand that business's have to make a living but the ones that usually pay the crappiest are the big business because now thanks to the IR laws they can get away with it.
Its the kids that worry me if at your first job your are ripped off it becomes a vicious circle because when they become future employers they will do the same to the next generation.

How many people said work for the dole what a good idea, when you are in my situation that there is no work in your area its slave labour. We all should have seen workchoices coming just on that policy alone, How long will it be when with Howard's Idea of paying teachers by results will it be until a storeman is paid by the amount of orders that he processes or a machine operator is payed by how many items they produce. I know of some staff at Morwell centrelink that would never get paid again if that was the case

i think the aim of workchoics was to de regulate the labor market to such a point where we would end up just like the US system where a minimum wage is basically the o nly protection you have and the value of it is worthless.
Howard wanted to make our labor market more like the US to create an even playing field when it came to international bagaining wirth them...( look we have the same system as you attitude)
I think it is an absolute disgrace to see that we have been governmend by such an @$$ licker of a PM for more than a decade. Weare not American, we dont aspire to be American, we don't want their laws, we have our own intelligence to create our own systems and regulation.
I am very happy though, only 1 week to go before Johnny is sacked.

Yes, WorkChoices is definitely one of the main reasons why I am voting Labor. I do believe that if WorkChoices stays we will end up like America. The state governments are already buying caravan parks to stem the housing crisis, so not only will we be earning a pittance but we will be living in caravans. Wonderful.

Well with Howard and Costello and his partners in crime what can we really expect when the economy is regarded as being the number one priority. The bottom line is this government has encouraged selfishness more and more in people. I am not against people making a profit but the costs of this will be passed on for many generations to come, suicide and divorce being some of these.

Tony Abbott admitted as much with his little blundered speech yesterday. Saying that workers could leave their jobs if they weren't happy. How far out of touch are these people? How can someone that owns a house in a country town, suddenly pack up and move to find another job? His house in the country is not going to worth the price of a house in the city. How stupid are they? Come on the 24th when we say farewell to this bunch of no hopers.
Poor Billy, and Pigs will fly. Guess you are an Employer.

Work Choices has taken this country back nearly one hundred years and given up all our fathers fought for.
We used to be able to buy a house and raise a family. all on one income.
Now we have to chose one or the other and it requires two incomes whichever way you go.
He has sold off all the assets which were bringing in money for the government and replaced them with more taxes.
He takes the money from the poor in taxes and gives it back to the rich at election time so he can have their support.
I will never vote for John and never have. But i have never hated and felt so ashamed of our ambassadors as i do now.
I only hope the truth comes out and people see what he has really done to this once great country.

You are right and have and will produce enough evidence to prove your statement. Whats worse is that despite this, Liberal voters are so narrow minded and ingrained in their beliefs that they would rather risk the future of all workers and our children's future with both workchoices and the environment than think about whats good for all Australians long after we are gone! But what do they care if their wallets are fat stuff everyone else!. Greed is at the base of everything that's wrong with this world.....actually isn't the reason most of them support the War in Iraq, to rid the world of man obsessed with greed?
Me and my wife are well-off but I feel everyone should have a share, and opportunity, to participate in the best country on earth despite their education and socio-economic background!

Like it or not Australia has the second highest minimum wage in the world. Didn't you all watch the four corners special on marginal seats, the one person on an AWA was $600 a year BETTER off.
I must admit the unions have run an excellent fear campaign on workchoices, they have managed to convince people who are not even remotely affected by AWA's that their worse off.
Bravo.
