average people fight and die in wars to make the rich richer, they are taxed relentlessly, are denied the opportunity to accumulate assets only debt, poor people of different races hate each other when both are powerless and the wealthy laugh at all of us.

EXACTLY! This is exactly why they keep us overworked and in constant need- So that we'll be too tired and preoccupied with trying to scrape for our next meal to question the lies which are spoon fed to us by the powers that be. We remain blind to the truth as we all fight amongst each other, clueless as to the identity of our REAL enemies.
As far as whether or not this will change.... Hmmm.... Doesn't appear that we're headed in that direction. We can only hope, my friend.

That's why the rich make sure that the poor have access to the little things in life to keep us busy & keep us down at a level that they can never ever understand. When their money is gone, what shall they do? It wil be such fun to watch the days of the final show on earth! Let them laugh...we'll all laugh when we die together...hopefully.! :o)

The masses are too busy trying to make ends meet to worry about an uprising, but some of the other answers are much more erudite than mine so I won't elaborate on that part.
Poor people of different races hate each other because having someone to feel superior to makes our own lives, however humble and miserable, seem that little bit better because we weren't at least born tall/short/on that side of town/with red hair/blue eyes....etc
