It depends on the mistake. If it's a procedural mistake, I review my understanding of proper protocol, then I move on. If it's an experimental mistake, I learn yet another thing that doesn't work, modify my methods and move on. If it's an ethical mistake, I examine my motivations (why I wound up on the wrong side of an ethical dilemma), undo harm to the extent I can (apologize, etc.) and then I move on. They're categorized as "mistakes" because they're unintentional acts, so the most important things I do where mistakes are concerned is evaluate how/why they occurred, and move on. I try not to be emotionally vested in them....that stagnates growth.

horrible, nah, it actually depends. i don't always follow the rules of the politics, but i do try to follow the rules of god, and when i break them it's like a punch in my stomach.
