Wow these questions get better and better. Uh no breathing, moving, stiffness. Same way to tell if a person was dead.

When most living things die, they defecate (pee +/or crap). In the same day maybe 5 hrs later, they start to stiffen up. Their bodies feel cold, not like the animal did when it was alive.Their body is beginning to decay. This is a sure way to tell that they are dead. If they were in a coma, they would still feel warm + their body would be limp in your hands next day after it supposedly died. Sorry if this happened to you. : (

It won't be breathing or moving, and its heart won't be beating. Then it will go cold, and stiff (rigor mortis). Rigor mortis wears off in about 12 hours.
Pupils also dilate and eyes are open wide and staring, this occurs straight away. Generally if the animal is still and cold with staring eyes, it's not good.

Usually lack of heart beat, movement and breathing are a good sign that something has died. It really doesn't take a genius to figure it out.

either go pick it up or touch it. If it doesn't respond to you touching it and it is alittle on the cold side. It is dead.
