Thanks to a link provided to me in another question (at bottom), it appear that Hillary **UNBELIEVABLY** is supporting and promoting CENSORSHIP!!
Censorship should be ANATHEMA to all sensible and thinking Americans! And SHE actually seems to be advocating the censorship and restriction of something as harmless and innocuous as **video games**.
This quirk on her part is really scary!! Imagine having a President who would flout our First Amendment rights?!? YIKES!!
I have a yard sign for her in front of my house, and have planned to vote for her in the Iowa Caucus. But now I don't know! A **censor** for President? Looks like I'd better re-evaluate Barack Obama and John Edwards, and see how THEY would stand on this! *Before* I cast my IOWA vote!

To "Elway_the_Cat" -- I'm aware of the direction of the intended censorship. But as one who taught middle school for a decade, I know how kids THINK. If they want a video game that's rated above their age, they'll simply get an older friend to buy it FOR them. Back in the '50s, when I was a kid, my parents were down on gambling. No prob! I bought a toy (but well-working) Roulette Wheel, and my friends and I went out into the upstate New York woods at will, and at our liesure, and gambled with it to our heart's content. No one EVER found out. (And two out of the usual three of us were PKs... Preacher's Kids. We were just like all the other kids, despite the fact that some in society seemed to want to picture us in accordance with unrealistic standards.)
Kids are kids, and kids are enterprising! Censorship or not, they WILL obtain and play all of the games that they want, regardless of rating! COUNT on that. They WILL! (And NO biggie! Any more than the wheel was.)

To "Elway_the_Cat" -- Drinking *always* alters behavior to some degree (especially, I would think, in the case of kids). But video games, just like TV and comic books, might or might not, to some extent. Usually not to any significant degree, as would be the case with drinking. Therefore, IMO, it's not worth the imposition of censorship upon millions in a land that is supposed to be free.

Ok, your question about the video game was serious! I congratulate you, and take back most of what I said. Yes, warn her, I don't know if it will help her though.

i'm afraid that if Hillary runs for president, the Republicans will win in 2008. And that somewhat must be the stunning disaster for united statesa.. The Democrats could come to a call in the event that they like to win primaries or win elections. men won't vote for her. sure i know it is not politically appropriate. And maximum men will attempt to seem to be supportive as a manner to no longer look too Chauvinistic. yet interior the tip, too many will stay residing house on election day. For the sake of our destiny for God's sake, we ought to get the neocons out of of place of work, or maybe we are able to haven't any destiny. The Democrats ought to occasion and discover an electable candidate. no longer one on the left that could win primaries, yet on which will charm to the two Democrats and Independents, and with a bit of luck some questioning Republicans. This time for Americas sake, earlier it is merely too late, we ought to win.

Why are you surprised? The Clinton/Gore camp was so hardcore on banning violent comic books and video games that a notoriously grotesque comic was published under the title "Tipper Gore Comics" - just as an insult to the Democrat's anti-1st amendment positions. Just like you said in your second comment, the fact its banned will only make it more appealing (this is what the comic publishers were banking on), and kids know how to get away with these sorts of things.
They've taken these anti-free speech positions so many times I have to wonder how anyone could just be finding out now.... Oh yeah, half of the media still works for them.

google banduras bobo doll experiment, and then tell us that banning violent computer games to the sale of minors is a bad thing. its not an infringment of your rights, its a common sense thing that i wish the uk would adopt. some bright spark in the father of my kids family brought my 9 yr old son, grand theft auto, dont know if your familiar with the games, but you generally go around raping and killing whores, treating women badly, shooting people, stealing cars etc, within a few days, his behaviour had changed. especially towards his younger sister. suffice to say, he no longer is allowed that game which was rated r and 18. whether you like it or not, kids and adults are influenced by media, be it news, or computer games. news should never be censored, but i think computer games should be. seriously, google banduras bobo doll experiment.

I wouldn't vote for her, she says one thing to one person then something totally different when she is with a group of people, not to be trusted, you might try to find the Clinton Chronicles on video on line, well worth watching and allot of info....will take sometime to watch the whole thing, but you can see where her and her hubby were coming from......

She isn't seeking to stop the sale of violent video games across the board. She seeks to stop the selling of violent and disturbing video games to CHILDREN. Considering that most voters have children and worry about these games this will be a leg up for her, not a kick in the pants. Did you read the article? These games will still be available to anyone over the age of 18. Maybe you think it's okay to sell violent and disturbing video games to children, but responsible parents do not.
EDIT: I fail to see how your story, common to many of us, changes the fact that children have no business having free access to the level of violence in these videos. Many kids will find a way, that doesn't mean we make it easy for them to do so. It's like saying that kids are going to drink anyway, so let's just make the drinking age 14.
