You sound like a very extreme case of OCD. You aren't seeing a therapist already and you had your own shower installed? You can feel so much better, you just need the help of a professional. There are medications that can help int he short run and in the long run , you and your therapist can get to the bottom of why it is you feel this way. You really can feel much better. I have known people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder that got much better. Trust me, you just need someone to help you- a professional.

This may be a form of Obsessive-Compulsive Behavior, OCD for short. There are very effective Cognitive Behavior Therapies for this problem, starting with Systematic Desensitization and Implosion. Some therapies use mental imagery in combination with relaxation. See a therapist and ask about it.

It does seem like you have a serious case of OCD but there is help!!! You're going to have to force yourself to go out as therapist don't come to you. But with the help of behavior modification and medication you can get better. It's going to take a lot of work and some courage to be able to go out to the therapist but if you want it bad enough you can do it. Find a therapist who deals with OCD, call the nearest hospital with a mental health clinic and they should be able to recommend one to you.

Sounds like a case of OCD - obsessive compulsive disorder.

Go see a psychiatrist. It is treatable. Don't delay and suffer needlessly. Your quality of life can be changed for the better. I've seen this happen with friends of mine.

This case calls for Behavior Modification. I recommend you read a basic text on it, and fix it yourself. There's nothing wrong with you, and you can, surprisingly, condition yourself to like or dislike anything whatsoever. In fact, to do so is a basic advanced yoga exercize.
