Hi Falco - good answer. I don't think it did explain fully how a normal sea going vessel could crash through the side of the Tardis though. From the point of view inside the Tardis it seems logical on the surface, but try looking at it from the point of view on the deck of the Titanic. How could the entire bow of the ship get stuck inside a small police box that is barely taller than a man?
This dimensional transcendentalism boggles the mind at times.
Hiya monkeymanelvis - another good answer, but I don't think the explanation of why the 5th Doctor looked older can be extrapolated to "The Two Doctors" and "The Five Doctors". In "The Two Doctors" Patrick Troughton was seen as the 2nd Doctor (complete with grey hair) apparently in his own time stream before he met the 6th Doctor. Also in "The Five Doctors", Richard Hurndall was seen as the 1st Doctor in his own time stream before the time scoop picked him up.
So I think we'll just have to continue suspending disbelief with those.

Missed it on Friday, so can't thank you enough for the link man. Just watched it twice over. Loved it. Just loved it. Peter Davison was "My" Doctor too, and although it dallied a little in the realms of sentimentality and actor-to-actor rather than Doctor-to-Doctor, I still loved it. Like your theory on the possible "Eternal" connection to the Titanic crash, but this little Childeren In Need special seems to have given us a bit of an explanation of how an ordinary ship could crash through the Tardis. Granted "the assembled hordes of Genghis Khan couldn't get through those doors", but if the shields are down and all kinds of temporal shenanigans are goin on, perhaps a very great deal of iron moving at a fair number of knots could do what Genghis and the boys couldn't?

It was clever. VERY clever because it not only explained the Titanic it also retroactively explained why Patrick Troughton had gone grey in The Two Doctors and (perhaps) why the first Doctor looked different in The Five Doctors!
I loved it for itself too - one of the best short Doctor Who productions ever (far better than "A Fix With Sontarans". Ooh... Sontarans...
So all in all as the ninth Doctor would say "Fantastic!"

Did anybody else think the celery was too long ?
I was surprised Peter D's Doctor was a bit more cantankerous than he used to be, perhaps it was originally written with Colin Baker in mind. But on the whole it was great to see both of them again excellent interaction, and keeping some continuity with the series as well. The 'you were my doctor' bit must have been so fulfilling for David.
Roll on Christmas.

I liked it, it tied in very neatly to the series and was funny. It did get a bit cheesy when David Tennant was gushing about how Peter was his favourite doctor. But it was def another to keep u tied over until xmas.

I thought it was great and it made me laugh and that is what it was suppossed to do.Stephen Moffat one of the Who writers did it and I thought him making David Tennant thank the other Who (Davison) as he was his Docter was very clever. Quite often Moffat does this very slyly in some of his scripts but this was just one big mickey take and as such it worked.

I suppose it was a big kick for avid dr who fans, I just think dr who is okay, not amazing so I thought it was a load of sentimental twaddle.

It was reasonably amusing, and I did like the joke about the Master not needing a beard because he was married...
