The zip ties don't actually work as well. They're fine for very short-term situations, but they don't provide any long-term security. They can be easily cut - some people have actually been able to bite through them (I've seen it done, not by someone handcuffed by them, I admit, but not everyone is cuffed behind their back so that's not going to work really well as an excuse). Also, as they're disposable they actually would be more expensive - you'd have to replace them every time you used them. Even if you only had someone handcuffed for a matter of minutes, you'd need a new set. It doesn't take long to clean a pair of metal cuffs, and they last.

Because then the people getting arrested would have more comfortable handcuffs! Plus it'd look silly.

Well, they're cranky and maybe need some more fiber in their diet.( But ...it COULD be something else. Maybe getting "arrested" wouldn't be such a bad idea..)

my personal belief is that they dont want to be mistaken for my line of work...its like football teams have colors...the work force has diff kinds of cuffs..you see what im saying?
