I remember when I was in Jr high.

The World was getting colder. Pollution was blocking out the sun.

Now it's keeping it in?

Yes I do.

5-10 years ago, you could not swim at the North Pole. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/6282048.stm Now you can. (I would not recommend it though.)

Also, the North West passage is open. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/6999078.stm If you are willing to open your eyes, the proof that the world is warmer is there to see.

No one--except a bunchof non-scientist junk scientists--ever said the world was getting colder.

Beyond that, this (and I'm not jumping on you) claim, wherever you read it, is one example of just how ignorant the so-called skeptics are. Here's why:

There are different types of pollution. Some things--sulfur compounds, especially--cause acid rain. Others (flourine compounds) are the cause o fozone depletion. Some types could--if enough were put into the atmosphere--could block a significant amount of te sun's rays.

The biggest problem is CO2. The oters are relatively easy to control--and the problems they caused are largely solved--in the case of ozone, it jsut will take a long time for the ozone layer to recover. But it's not a major issue anymore.

CO2 is different. It doesn't cause toxic effects like Sulfer compounds, etc. The effect it has is to act like a blanket--it keeps heat in. Given the massive amounts of CO2 emissions, its more than enough to warm the earth up a few degrees.

That few degrees isn't a "big deal" in the sense that it makes the earth "too hot to support life"--far from it. But it is more than enough to upset the balance of forces--climate, ocean temperatues, ice melt rates--and case serious problems. So far, all we've seen is some huricanes being somewhat more intense, faster ice melts, and perhaps the warming making some droughts worse.

But--unchecked, its going to get worse. A lot worse.

As a scientist (chemist), I find the whole idea rather premature. There has never been scientific proof that CO2 levels can do what the alarmists are saying for one. It has mostly been an arguement of cherry picking this and that, while ignoring other facts. That is not how the scientific method works. There are over 17,000 verified scientists who have signed a global petition opposing such conclusions as being passed off as fact.

I don't believe in conspiracy, like that all deniers have visited
same camphill junior high to get the same selective memory.

Looks more like undisclosed advertising by car industries,
rather paying millions to trolls instead of funding innovation.
Asides the rabid jealousy with Al Gore that shines through too.

This is no religion, you may wish to check up defintions first,
if the water is running in the evening and the tub gets fuller at
bedtime - I just CALCULATE a bathroom flooded tomorrow.

I believe in 1962 when the Polaris Submarine went under the North Pole the ice was 100 feet thick. And now some is only 6 feet thick.

The sad thing is, that when the ravages of Global Warming, are freezing everything, and the appearance of the world has changed? All those that said it was a joke, will be dead and gone, and their descendants will be paying the price, for not only their arrogance, but their stupidity as well.

And 30 years from now, when the Earth is in a cooling phase again, they'll be trying to sell us on global cooling. Of course the same people who support global warming, and cooling 30 years ago, will support global cooling AGAIN!

Pollution still blocks out the sun - thanks to scrubbers and catalytic converters this type of pollution has not increased dramatically - but scrubbers and catalytic converters don't do anything for those greenhouse gases that don't block visible light.

Ah Global warming, the religion of the insane. Be it too warm, too cold, too wet ,too dry, too windy, too calm. It's all caused by global warming. Does it get any crazier.
