I agree with the guy below me. Just call the local police department. They can provide you with the statistics for any given area/neighborhood in their jurisdiction.

call the local police. I know someone who did that, and the police gave him honest and accurate information. THey said this area here gets the most "calls" (as in 911 calls or other problems), this area over here gets hardly any calls, etc etc.
