Actually, it's better to get your period at a later age because it means less pimples and the opportunity for you to grow a few extra inches. I hope I don't get my period until I'm 16 or 17. As long as I get it by the time I'm happily married, because I look forward to having great kids. I'm 13 by the way right now. No period also means no cramps and risks of getting pregnant- so less responsibility. But your period comes when you're ready for it. Some girls want their periods at a young age but why would you want it when you are not ready for it? Plus, I'm really short so I want to grow a little taller before I get it.

OMG, don't worry about it! I'm 14 and I just got my first period two weeks ago. Trust me, you should be happy that you don't have it. It's painful, messy, and you always cramp up. Anyways, it's a proven fact that within the last 100 years, the age that girls ge their periods has been younger and younger. The average age for a girl to get her period today is about 11 years old. 100 years ago, the average age was 14.5 years. Huge differnce, right? It all has to do with your gene makeup, that's all. Be thankful, we're the lucky ones.

I know everyone says this but its true. Every girls body is different. The average for a girl is 9-16 so your fine. I actually just started mine on the 14th. I thought having mine would be exciting... but I already hate it. I am 12 1/2 and My b-day is on July 30th.

I stared in the 6th grade and it is normal to start when you are 14 a lot of my friends didn't start until 14 and some of my friends didn't start until they were in high school around 16 if it doesn't come around 16 go to the doctor. I would go to the doctor/gyn.

i was 12 and a half. now i'm 14. i use to worry about the same thing. don't worry, it's not bad. everygirl is differnt. my sister didn't get hers until she was 16 to 17. now she's 18. u'r a late bloomer just like most girls. i know how curious late bloomers (like me) can be. but just hold tight and enjoy the non period ride. (easy said then done, i know). but be patrient and u'll get it. remember there's time for everything. again this is not a bad thing; everyone is different. if still in dout, see your doc. but i'm certain there's noting to worry about.

Statistically you are a bit late but a lot of things effect the start of menstruation. If you are athletic, stressed emotionally, have poor nutrition and simple heredity all play a factor. If you are really concerned see a gynecologist especially if you have already developed other signs of puberty (breasts, pubic hair)
They can determine if there is a problem or not. More than likely though your body just is not ready to yet.

I was in the 6th grade. There is nothing wrong with you not getting your yet. Many of my friends didn't start until they were 14. It will come soon, don't worry :)

Every woman is different when it comes to getting their period.

According to some studies, getting your period later can help protect you from certain cancers including breast, ovarian, uterine, and endometrial. In addition, getting later periods can also help you to stave off the possibility of your bones becoming brittle in later life (developing osteoporosis). Still, take your calcium supplements...its good practice regardless of when you get your period.

I got mine when i got 15.
Why would that be bad? you enjoyed period free teenage years a bit longer- there is nothing fun about having pms, bloating, gaining crazy water weight, mood swings etc.
