I know when it first came out there were so many complaints and everyone hated it. I still have not installed it - should I leave well enough alone - or should I install it?
I have a 3 yr old HP PC running on XP.

Try it out, it seems good. If you don't like it, you can always uninstall it. Although the best is firefox.

Yes, it is IE 7 is one of the best from Microsoft. A lot of good features and the ability to create multiple tabs instead of opening up numerous windows of IE.

Microsoft requires IE7 with the latest updates.

Do note that most web sites are designed to work best with IE.

Good luck.

I'm still using firefox.

Keep in mind, though, that MicroSquash won't let you download anything from their website except with a version of IE. That means you may not be able to get critical OS updates and patches it you uninstall IE. For that reason, it's worth keeping it, even if you only use it for bug fixes.

I've recently installed it cos the old version I've been using kept locking up... I reckon MS have a back door way of making you upgrade!
Mozilla Firefox is another alternative - I use that on my older PC... Never had any problems with it...

I personally thing that firefox is the best browser to use, if you want to try it out, you can download it here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ If you don't like it, just update your internet explorer. I think the new version is better than using the old one, although firefox is better than both. I hope this answers your question!

Go for Mozilla Firefox. It's easy to use and it has lots of free extensions and fewer exposed security problems than IE.
