actually had it work? If so, how far along were you and what exactly did you do? How long did it take for your labor to start after doing whatever you did? Thanks :)

I appreciate the concern...but really I just want a simple answer to my question...not advice.

I've heard of castor oil and have no intention of trying it, I don't want to be glued to the toilet...lol.
btw...I am full term, so I'm safe.

There is one thing that i recommend to naturally induce labor. However, i only recommend this if the pregnancy is going okay, and you are near your due date, the earliest being 38 weeks.
Nipple Stimulation. Sounds weird, i know, but its very natural and works. When stimulting your nipples, your body releases a natural hormone, much similar to the one they use to induce your labor at the hospital. This homrone makes your uterus contract, which then makes your cervix dilate and efface.
To do nipple stimulation, you could try gently pinching your nipples, or rubbing a wash clothe on them. It typically takes about 5 mintues of doing this to feel a contraction. Once you feel a contraction, stop and wait a few mintues before you do it again. After a while fo doing this (it took 1 hour for me the second time), then the contractions should be coming naturally.
I don NOT recommend drinking certain things, eating certain things, etc. These can be dangerous to some women and theri babies. Yes, tehy may work for some, but usually they just appear to work because the woman is already near her due date in the first place.
Sex can also help dilate/efface the cervix because of the hormones found in the mans sperm.
Good luck!

I gave brisk walks a try starting at 38 weeks. It produced a lot of strong Braxton Hicks and pre-labor contractions but no real labor.
I went into labor spontaneously at 39 weeks when my water broke.
Natural labor induction using methods like walking, castor oil and herbs does NOT work. If it did, doctors would use these cheaper, easier methods in hospitals instead of pitocin!
The women who go into labor after walking or eating spicy food or taking castor oil were ready to go into labor anyway. It is not due to the home remedies. Most women try this stuff when they are due or overdue anyway, so it's only a coincidence that labor starts after trying these methods.
Labor is a delicate process which is triggered from inside the woman's body, not by outside influences. It's true what they say - the baby will come when it's ready.

I was 39 weeks pregnant and went for a prenatal massage. The massage therapist tried putting pressure on some of my pressure points that are known to cause contractions and used in other countries to induce women into labor. They made me have contractions, but not enough to put me into labor. I ended up being 41 weeks and induced at the hospital. But the massage therapist told me that she did it on another woman and her water broke right on the table she was lying on!

Isn't it funny how everyone was doing something before they went into labor and swear left and right that that's what brought their labor on. In that case um I toke a good nap with my first child and woke up having contractions so that began labor. With my second child, it must of been the way I laid myself down in bed cause as soon as i laid down, my water broke! LOL, we need to give our bodies more credit and trust the very source (your body) that conceived, carried, and nurtured your child for nine months to know when the turkey in the oven is just right!

I tried everything in the book. Nothing worked, until. . .
I had sex and let my boyfriend *** inside me. I heard that semen can naturally induce labor ( but i didn't believe it)
Crazy, but I went into labor about 5 hours later. I was 3 days before my due date.

My wife tried several things to induce her labor but none of them worked. It is said that having sex, eating red raspberries, eating spicy food, driving on a bumpy road, accupressure, and several other things might induce labor, however it is actually not a good thing to try. Inducing labor at home can be very dangerous, if your baby isn't ready it can cause lots of problems. Your doctor should be the only one who induces you labor and that should be as a last resort.

Having sex may help induce labor. In semen are prostaglandin which can help to "ripen" the cervix. In the hospital, before they induce labor with Pitocin, they first rippen your cervix with synthetic prostaglandin.

Having sex helps.
I know people who have done it.
Just don't do it if you're started dialating. It could cause infection!
