I had a dream about the years following the election a few nights ago.

I dreamed of what this fine country could be 6 years from now if it returned to the principles of hard work and faith in god that it was founded on.

In my dream, I saw a number of things.

I saw a country where race was barred from being a consideration in school and higher education admissions. No affirmative action, no quotas, no special considerations, the basis of admission was strictly Academic Merit. Students had to work hard, study, ask questions, be intrigued, and cut their teeth on textbooks to get that cherished admission to college. It didn’t matter if you were Black, white, Hispanic, Laotian, or Asian...what mattered was your merit based on your academic achievements and the absolute equality sought after by Dr. Martin Luther King was finally achieved. It was a great day in America.

I saw a country where when our citizens or interests were attacked, those attackers and those that supported them were wiped from the face of the earth without a second thought, instead of apologizing for them saying they have been oppressed by “American Imperialism.” As a result, the Islamic fundamentalists subscribing to the Wahabi sect of Islam now think twice about striking anything affiliated with the American Flag. It was a great day in America.

I saw a country where we secured our borders as zealously as we secure those in Iraq. It was a great day in America

I saw a country where immigrants to this country from Mexico and all other nations came to this country legally and with an honest desire to become Americans. They came here not looking for things to be handed to them or demanding special considerations. Rather, they came here with a heart of determination to work hard, learn the language, assimilate with their neighbors and become an American in every facet and took pride in flying Old Glory on their front lawn. They do not forget their culture from their homeland, but they recognize, embrace and live the culture of their new home. It was a great day in America

I saw a country where the hypocrite politicians on both sides of the aisle were barred from spending social security funds and had to pay out of their own pocket to replace the funds the so vigorously plundered. Those that have worked their whole life and are retiring now have a safety net and the retirement income they so rightly deserve. It was a GLORIOUS day in America!

I saw a country where our Veterans are honored and cared for with the same loyalty, honor, and determination which they served our country with. It was a great day in America.

I saw a country where individuals were held accountable for their actions, and not allowed to blame their position in life on somebody else. It was a great day in America.

I saw a country where the ones that received paychecks were those that WORKED! With the exception of Veterans and those that are disabled, welfare now had a one year limit. Gone were the days where able bodied men and women were allowed to sit on their behinds and collect a check from my tax dollars for sitting on their behinds, when the only reason they couldn’t be out working was that they are LAZY. It was a great day in America.

In my dream, Fred Dalton Thompson was the President of the United States, and had been for the last 6 years.

Hillary Clinton will defeat Rudy Giuliani by a landslide.

Democrats will pick up between 5 and 10 seats in the Senate and will pickup another 15 to 20 seats in the House.

That cosmetic changes are around the bend, but that's about it. It's a paradox, really: polls show that most people are disillusioned with the war in Iraq and the Patriot Act- in a word, the direction in which this administration has taken us- and yet the only candidates who have a real chance of winning are those who voted for those endeavors.

I love watching politics, especially Presidential elections. I can't wait to see how the primaries for both parties go, and I always look forward to the conventions. I am really looking forward to when the candidates pick their running mates. This is going to be a VERY interesting election cycle.

In the '08 Election a Republican will win the White House, and Republicans will have a strong showing in the house and retake the senate.

Democrats have waisted their political capital.

Not happy about the 08 elections. More worried. Has not been one Dem. in my party for years that got my vote. Main thing that I fear is Hillary winning. What would she do for Bill? Plus, if something should happen to Hillary, then Nancy Pelosi would be President. Now that is something to worry about.

I think the run up to this election started to soon, too much money will be spent, in the end we will be forced to choose the lesser of 2 evils and nothing will really change.

Vote for NONE of the above. We need to take our country back. We as U.S. Citizens need to make a stand. We vote in a third party Stand up to the big, BIG government like Bill and Hillary, and all the Republicans. GO THIRD party.
