Can mentally challenged people be nice? Can they get out of the dancing category with these irrelevant questions?

I worked with the mentally challenged for many years. A lot of times hostility towards them by otherwise normal people is a product of fear or insecurity. Ignorance of the causes and treatment for the mentally challenged, a lack of understanding that they do not "choose" to be this way...many reasons. People tend to fear what they do not know.
Most of this fear, and the bad behavior that comes from it, is rooted in ignorance, which thankfully can be treated with education. I have seen lots of people turn around in their interactions with the mentally challenged, once they understand more about them.
