Here we go again! Liberals crying about the 2000 election.

Let me educate you on this since you must have missed this lesson in Jr high school.

The Electoral College selects the president.
Each state has a certain number of electoral votes
These votes go to the candidate who wins the popular vote in that particular state.
This is the way it has always been.
Because it has always been that way it makes candidates campaign harder in some states.
This is a strategy that works.
This is the strategy that the Bush camp chose to use.

Bush won 30 states
Gore won 20 states

Bush won the presidency.

Now, for Florida, there were two recounts. Bush won the first count, the 1st recount (by more votes) and the 2nd recount.

It is open and shut people... let it go. The conspiracy theories make you look silly and like sore losers.

TO ALL THOSE WHO SAY BUSH STOLE THE ELECTION JUST LOOK AT THE FACT THAT AL GORE LOST HIS HOME STATE OF TENNESSEE.THE MEDIA TRIED TO STEAL THE ELECTION FOR GORE BY GIVING HIM THE STATE AT FIRST WHILE THE PANHANDLE AREA WAS STILL VOTING. THE AREA IS IN CENTRAL TIME & THE POLLS WERE STILL OPEN IN THAT PART OF THE STATE. THE AREA IS MAINLY REPUBLICAN & WOULD HAVE ALLOWED BUSH TO WIN EASILY IF THE NETWORKS HAD DONE THEIR JOB & LET THE PEOPLE VOTE.

A lot of it has to do with Gore not distancing himself from the Clinton scandal. Usually, a V-P is a sure thing for election. But Gore never criticized Clinton for his actions, so he carried Clinton's baggage around with him at election time.

That was a big factor, but also...Gore has all the personality of a bloated mackerel.

Al Gore did win the election. Read a History Book.... The Supreme court which was mostly selected by Reagan and Bush appointed W as president.

From what I found Kerry won the 2004 Election then again Bush was hard to beat. Considering he got more votes in one county then there was people.

"Because God chose him......" You think God would have made a better choice, I did not think God made mistakes!!

He tried to distance himself from Bill Clinton, when he should have embrased his support.
Bill Clinton had a 65 percent approval, 32 percent disapproval rating at the end of his presidency.

Al Gore did win the popular vote. A corrupt Republican political machine in Florida conspired to disqualify the votes of thousands of Democrats, and their decisions was upheld by what history will regard as one of the Supreme Court's most irrational and politically influenced opinions. This gave Bush a majority of the electoral votes and the presidency.
