I'm doing a book report and I have to compare/contrast the book and movie. Which version of "The Stepford Wives"- book and movie- should I get? Is the original movie good? Is it confusing? Because I don't like confusing movies or books. And should I get the original book or the one with the eyes on the cover or the one with nicole kidman on the front?
If I read the original book, should I see the 1st movie?

Okay, I read the original book and watched the new movie. The new movie is VERY different from the original book.
I would watch the original movie with the original book, I really liked the plot better.

Both versions of movies are corny, but I much preferred the original. It was by far more interesting to me. I thought the newer version was trying to be funny, instead of just letting the utter hilarity of the situation happen. I personally did not find the original confusing and I had not read the book at that point.

As far as a more realistic look at the book, the original is probably best. The newer one is more of a comedy. I love both of these movies and watch both often. Now as far as just a good watch the remake is good, it makes me laugh every time I watch it. But for the creepy factor, the original is the one.

They are both equally creepy. The books are always going to have more information than the movie. Have you already seen the newer one? If so I would go with the original.

I've seen both. I prefered the 1975 version. Seemed a little creepier to me, plus I've always liked Katherine Ross.
