im 19 weeks today and i was scheduled for a sonogram tomorrow so we could finally confirm if we are having a boy or girl and the doctors office just called and cancelled the appointment because the u/s tech wont be able to be there for who knows what reason. its bad enough that they only do sonograms on saturdays but they cant even change it to next weekend because of thanksgiving so now i have to wait 2 more weeks till we can find out! its so frustrating, i just want to know already! i was so excited about tomorrow and now i am so disappointed. 2 weeks just seems so far from now...anyone has to deal with something like this? dont those people know pregnant women are crazy with raging hormones and the littlest things can get to us? i want to cry... :(

That is so unfair! I would lose it too...

Is it possible to go somewhere else to get it done? Maybe you can go get a 4D ultrasound and get some great pics! (not to mention find out what you are having!) They are a little expensive, but if you can afford it, then go for it! Good luck and congrats on your baby!

I know how you feel I am waiting anxiously right now too to find out. Justrealx and 2 weeks will be here soon! I started getting a little over anxious the last pregnancy I had and my doctor had to remind me or inform me that is that knowing the sex is a bonus from the sonogram its not mandatory. Imagine all of the couples who cannot find out what they are having due to there baby being in the wrong posiiton or having there legs crossed! lol Hope all goes well and congrats to you!

You might want to look into 3D... simply because if your child is as non-cooperative as mine, and its left up to the hurried doctors visits - you might never find out!

At almost 30 weeks, my doctors office has never spent enough time with little miss leg crosser to find out. I've had TWO level II ultrasounds, both had difficulty getting her to cooperate.

The only thing that kept me sane, was a 'gender determination' scan I did at the local 3D place. I had to go two weeks in a row to make sure Miss Prissy was in fact a girl - but I knew at 16 weeks, so I've been shopping ever since.

Good luck to you!

Don't get too bummed out if things don't work out as planned. Many, many people don't even get to find out during the u/s because baby is not cooperating. It is not uncommon for baby to have his/her legs crossed or just wrong angle. I just don't want you to put so much hope into your next apt and then get let down again. Sorry about your issue though...I know it can be frustrating.

I can somewhat relate, at my 5 months ultrasound w/ my 1st we couldn't see if it was a boy or a girl, I had to wait 2 more months to find out. Be glad you only have to wait two weeks, it could be worse.

hehehehe. I completely understand. I had a terrible ultrasound experience as well. Email me if you want me to tell you about it. lol Just know that I completely understand what you're going through and everything will be fine. None of this will matter when you are 7, 8, 9 months along.

Why in the world do they only do sonograms on saturdays? that sounds rediculous!! At my dr.s office they are there everyday. Sounds like you need a new dr! or else just wait it out!

Try not to stress over it.

I work at an ob-gyn clinic with high risk perinatologists. Be happy that you don't need to see a high risk perinatologist.

Anyway, docs, nurses, midwives and ultrasound techs all have their own lives. Better to have no ultrasound then to have a tech who is sick doing your ultrasound. What if the tech got in a car accident? or the tech's child is sick?

Be nice to us! we just work here!
