That could be one of the things taken away from him by the commissioner if he is convicted as charged.

Only with an asterisk.
But, MLB owners and commissioner Vincent were feckless in failing to come out with proscriptions against steroids. They allege, with some truth, that the fans want to see home runs and broken records.
Bonds can't hold a candle to Hank Aaron as a player and as a human being. Even though he held baseball's most hallowed record for years, Aaron remained one of the most under-appreciated figures in sports.

I don't believe it's right for anyone to cheat to gain an advantage of others. It was against the rules and done illegally. Deep down everyone knows he was on it. Let's be real, you don't turn 37 yrs old and then hit 70+ homers naturally. If that was the case he should of had 90 at the age of 30. Should he have the record? No. But let's look at it this way, why is it everyone knows wrestlers are on it but why aren't the feds knocking down their doors? Also, Lance Armstrong failed his test like 10 times but he was given a free pass. They say it was for cancer treatment even though one of his workers acknowledged watching him shoot up to illegally gain an advantage. I feel if your going to take away Bonds' record, then you might as well take away McGwires 70 homer season. He might not have been on steroids but he was using creatine (although it wasn't against the rules until the following year). Bottom line is if a crackdown and record stripping is going to happen then it NEEDS to happen and NOT halfway. Otherwise just leave him alone like they did with L. Armstrong.

No, he shouldn't keep the homerun record because he cheated his way to break Hank Aaron's record.

I am a big Atlanta Braves fan so I have to say I think Barry
Bonds cheated...that's not just because I'm a Hank Aaron supporter.

He also cheated and lied. Those home runs he hit, he hit while on steroids. He tested positive for them and admitted that he took them but didn't know that he had taken them. Now there is proof that he lied 19 times to the court. So I would love to see his record be taken away since he doesn't deserve it. But there is a rule in the MLB that his record can't be taken away. Besides, what about those many pitchers that pitched to him? If they mess with Bonds' record, they have to mess with those pitchers' records too and that is way too hard. So sadly, he'll be keeping it. :(

Nothing is going to happen to Bonds HR records. If they alter Bonds' stats, then they will have to alter every player's stats who has ever tested positive for a banned substance (McGuire,Palmeiro,ect..) Why would the MLB put that much effort into this when A Rod is going to pass it soon anyways?

i'm no longer an excellent fan of PED's --- sure, i understand many MLB gamers have used them, yet it is the component, the place's the actual interest of the sport? only in view which you're taking PEDs does no longer mean you're continually going to prevail. Mentality continues to be mandatory. A-Rod and Bonds have been 2 of many who had fulfillment with them. i think of A-Rod can, i'm uncertain if he will. even nevertheless I misplaced my admire for Bonds, i'm hoping his record would not get broken. & no longer because of the fact A-Rod gets injured, yet because of the fact he only can no longer. i would not be satisfied to be sure A-Rod wreck Gehrig's 23 grand slam record the two.

If and when they are sure he took steroids--Anderson is going to roll on Bonds--take away any home runs hit during that time period. Therefore no record.
