OK, I confess, I'm taking her to see the Band too, I just wodered which way people would jump if it was a choice.

Go and see the band with your mates, then take your wife out the next day.
You'll be better company having had a night out, and you'll have more fun together than if you thought she was keeping you from going somewhere you'd rather be with your mates.

Why don't you take your wife out for a nice meal, and then the two of you can meet your friends out to see the band? That would be a very fun thing to do together, I think!

id do both book the meal early then the band, hey im staying in with the dog and a bag of crisps, id love the chance for a meal out and see a band shes a lucky lady

it depends what you want to do. when was the last time you took your wife out? could you put it off for another day or two? is this band only on for this one night? i personally think you should take your wife out, make the most of her and spoil her while you can. although spending time with your friends is important. follow your heart.
