For starters, there are no photos of Mohammed! The first photographs were taken in 1839, long after the Prophet died.

But even imaginary pictures of him are not allowed because the Muslims take the "no graven images" commandment seriously. In Islamic art there are not even images of animals, because some other religions worshipped animals. And Mohammed was not a god, just a prophet, so it was considered wrong to worship him -- revere yes, but not worship. And it was felt that pictures lead to worship.

i have seen Muslim art, and they never show Mohammed's face. They are not allowed to. It has something to do with Islam
