It doesn't make sense. If one person ever brings me bodily harm i will fight myself to the end. No law book out there could ever say what is really going on in people's heads.

An example is the recent case of a white man using a shotgun against 3 black home invaders, They want charge him for shooting at the men when they were retreating because he shot them in the back. Come on, could they have been retreating to get someone/thing and come back to the house? You will never know. Someone invades your home they should be killed.

I don't understand why we protect the criminals and try to prosecute the victims. So what he killed some robbers, less thugs off the street in my book.

Because some j@ck@$$ liberal attorney convinced judges or juries that if someone is not in full frontal attack position it is not self defense.

So, if you ever break into someone's house, be sure that if they come at you, you just keep your back to them while you stuff crap into your bag, and they cannot do a thing.

RATHER IDIOTIC, ISN'T IT.

ohiofire...so if someone was still in your house, and you did not know which of your possessions they had, and where they were headed, but they were headed away from you, you are okay with that? I would like to break into your house and just keep my back toward you while I am looting everything of value that you own.

beardog...you have no clue what you are talking about. You can be charged with assault if you shoot them and manslaughter if they die. NOTHING protects the homeowner if they are not face to face. FEW STATES are an exception to this.

jurydoc...interesting. But this is not always the case. There are laws in most states that if you shoot someone in the back during a burglary, you can be charged.

Texas just recently passed a law to protect homeowners form this very situation, it prevents criminals from suing homeowners in the event they are harmed in any way while trying to break into or have broken into someones home.

Beardog, the news has pointed out that people are crying racism because it was a white "victim" and black robbers, they are trying to make it seem like the criminals are the "victims" because they were black, like this man woudl have not gone after white men breaking into his home?

Because we are a civilized society and do not depend on vigilantism for justice. Protecting your home/family is one thing, but there are laws against shooting someone if they are trying to leave your house. I'm just as protective as the next guy, and I agree that you should be able to protect your home and family by any means necessary, but I agree that certain boundaries must be placed to ensure we conduct ourselves civilly (even in the police force and military, it's considered dishonorable to shoot someone in the back/when they're retreating).

It was once said that an English mans home is his castle....this, so i thought, meant that a man had every right to defend his home in any way he could.
Even if these people were running away it is their own fault that they were fired upon.
If a person chooses to take up a career as a burglar then they should be realise that people may wish to defend themselves.
The law in Britain is an ar5e...if someone broke into my house I'd do what ever necessary to defend myself and my family..if this included killing then so-be-it...even if they were running away.
Rob my house at your peril...if the dogs don't get you i will.

Not in Missouri. We have a law called the "Castle Doctrine"--essentially if an intruder steps inside your home uninvited, you may defend at will with deadly force with no further explanation, and you are free from both civil and criminal retribution.

If they're in your house uninvited, you can open up on them and never go to jail for it.

They can want to charge him till they're blue in the face- it's legal to protect your property and family by whatever means are necessary in every state in the country. Why point out that the invaders were black? Do you think he wouldn't have shot them if they were asian or white?

You'd better check your facts again. In the case in question, the issue is that 2 of the invaders were shot and killed while one survived. It is the survivor who is being charged with the murder of the other two, NOT the homeowner.

Because liberals have to pander to their voters; criminals and their families. If someone breaks into your house try to yell something to get them to turn around before you shoot them. Good point about Texas Sway, by the way you're pretty hot.
