I would say no. Management and players of both nationalities are scattered throughout the leauge. Look at the difference in style between Montreal and Vancouver. It has nothing to do with country.

Ronnie, they must be trapping beaver this year eh?
I haven't noticed any difference in the Canadian and American teams style of play, I think it has to do mostly with the conferences. In the west it's, we'll score a goal and stop you from scoring one, where as in the east it's you'll score a goal and we'll score two.
If I didn't know any better I would say there was a difference in the two countrys because when I watch the eastern conference games, 9 times out of 10 they are Canadian, (thanks to the CBC) but I also see the western conference Canadian teams, and their style differs from the likes of Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal.

I say yes. for the most part, the canadian teams have been playing a "wide-open" style (Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Calgary) while the US based teams seem to be trapping alot more this year.

It depends which teams you are looking at in the NHL. Western teams, like the Kings, play a more physical, close game.. which pisses me off by the way. Then teams on the east coast and in Canada usually play more of an open ice passing game which is much more fun to watch. and in my opinion, way more effective both offensively and defensively because the Kings always get bleedin' clustered and geez it's so hard to watch..

I would have to say no, while it is clearly agreed upon that European and American players and teams generally have different strategies, however Canadian and American players play the same I think. Perhaps Canadians are grittier but thats all i can think of.

No. Since coaches get moved around nearly as often as players, they take their style of play wherever they go. Now if you were to compare NHL to European style, big difference there.

The Ducks play the most "Canadian" hockey of the entire NHL... and they're in SoCal...

If you can notice any difference between Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings... I think that is what it is.
