The answer is different for everyone. Some people believe the purpose of life is to accumulate material things. Peoples' values changes over time. What you value now is not what you valued 10 years ago or not what you might value in the future. I believe we are here on earth to do good deeds, nothing more, nothing less. This includes raising our children to be the best kind of people they can be. Not to give them everything except your time. To become a person of the highest moral and ethical value. If you can answer the question as to whether a person has been better off knowing you in the affirmative, you are on your way to living a fulfilling life.

the meaning of life is that YOU ARE ASLEEP. Right now. Everything in life is designed to keep you asleep. Nature doesn't want you to wake up. Whether you wake up or not depends on your own efforts, your own understanding. If you think you're already awake, then you will NEVER make the efforts required to wake up and you'll spend your life dreaming that you're awake.
But being awake is very, very different from what you think it is. It's not religion. It's not science. It's not imagination. Waking up from your hypnotized state is the most difficult thing you will ever do. Because first, you don't know what you must do to wake up. And second, even if someone were to tell you, you'd start to do it, MAYBE, and then you'd forget about it. You'd get distracted, you'd lose interest and then you would stop doing what you need to do to wake up.

That depends on what you find meaing in. What I would believe as the meaing for living would be contrary to what others believe, and I probobly wouldn't win the ten points, but if you're serious and you really want an answer to your question, than just look inside yourself and think what your life is worth living for.
Here are some ideas of things I believe give my life meaning
Family, Friends, health, living, loving, hating, crying, screaming, nature, music, art, sex, activities,
Maybe the meaning of life is just to live with what were given. That's all
"Every rose has it's thorn, just like every night has it's dawn.
Just like every cowboy sings a sad, sad, song."

Meaning of life and purpose of life are essentially the same thing. Meaning refers to actions and purpose refers to objects but both require an intelligent plan or design. There is no meaning in babble and no purpose for a rock on mars.
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell
Without God, we are reduced to inventing something to do that we can pretend comes from a higher source. Inventing our own purpose or meaning is self deception.
If God exists, then our purpose is to seek Him. If we were in the army and didn't know our mission, wouldn't we seek our commanding officer? Well, our purpose on earth is our mission and God is our commanding officer.

i don't think this is the right place to be asking this question.if u r serious about it then try a relative site/forum where u can talk about it.cause even if i tell u "for me it's to be true and not lie to urself and live every moment the way u want to but in the limits of not hurting someone else's freedom" u r not going to understand what exactly i mean and maybe even draw wrong conclusions. =/

Wouldn't say meaning, but more like purpose is to propogate. Survival of the species seems a main instinct.

I wish I knew. It is the eternal question everyone seeks and answer to but fail because the mistakenly believe the answer lies externally whereas it resides inside you.
Each and everyone of us must find their own answer and not follow blindly the answers of others.

A meaning is not necessary. The act of searching and searching for one is the reason for much misery.

Everyone is asking this question, no one seems to have an answer, yet that must be no big problem - people are not committing mass suicide on account of that.
