when did you start having your period? I was 9 and I thought that was really young, but I just clicked on a question from this woman whose 7 year old daughter just started. 7 years old!!! isn't that awfully young??

With all the chemicals used in our food these days..this is no surprise. Animals are being fed hormones to grow fast, and fatter in order to get to market quicker. We are eating these chemicals which are evidentally having an impact on our bodies. OMG.....and to think, this girl could be pregnant in 9 months................OMG

I started at 11. But my mother started at 9. Yes, 7 is young but that is normal for that girl.

That is very young and oddly enough I was watching something on the news this morning where there was a study done stating that if there is a lot of stress in the home this could cause a girl to go thru puberty earlier than others...I was 14 my mom was 16 and her mom was 17..

WOW! It depends on the generation because of what has been added to food. There is something in it that supposedly helps us grow and etc. Plus kids are getting pushed into being mature younger and younger now of days. So I heard doctors explain how thats bad for kids plus thats why some girls get their periods so early in life.Personally, I would hate being under 13 and having a period. I was 15 when I got mine and that was the normal for my generation.

It doesn't matter when one person started their period. A girl may start from age 9-17. On occasion, there may be exceptions. Everyone is different and there are many factors contributing to when a girl hits puberty.

i was 11 when i started my period. one of my grandmothers friends started her's at 9 years old. so, everybody starts theirs at different times.

mine was started when i was 14...but i know there are many girls that get their period at very early age but i think 7 is very young.
But now a days...there are many things happening unexpected. so i guess that is one of them.

I think I was 12.
7 seems a little young, but not by much. Girls are maturing much faster these days.
