I guess what I was getting at was: Should you lofty views on everything be taken seriously when you haven't been alive long enogh to develop much wisdom. (I.E., no wonder some of these broads have time to rack up so many points... mommy is still doing everything for them!)

Who am I to judge? I damn well better learn how to judge who I do and don't take advice from, sweetheart. No go run a long to class. You don't want to be late for dinner, mom will get mad! (BTW - after graduation, I was on my own at 22 - real life aint life college, but you don't know that, do you??

"Can you be a feminist if you are not even an adult?" - Feminism is not a function of age, it is a dysfunction. But it can usually be cured.
Being too young doesn't help. Many studies have shown that the human mind is not developed enough until around age 30 so over-educating the young is usually counter-productive.

Sure you can...just like you can hold any belief system prior to this arbitrary ideal of adulthood. Age is a very odd way to account for maturity, but since society has been unable to come up with a better plan...it's what we stick with. Traditionally, we say that wisdom comes with age, because age comes with experience. However, some people know more about life at 15 than others at 50. I could care less what you believe about feminism. I am sickened by the idea that because someone may not have reached the legal age of maturation, you automatically discount what they have to say and believe.
Teenager's belief systems change drastically over time. It's part of growing up. That doesn't invalidate their thoughts simply because they will change. A 30 year old may have drastically different ideas about a topic at 50...does that invalidate what they thought at 30? Or does this concept only apply to teenagers? The day a person stops growing, learning, changing is the day they might as well be dead...I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Wisdom comes from life experience, not necessarily age. Life doesn't wait for society to deem a person an adult to assault them, it comes on full blast whenever it chooses. People are able to hold whatever beliefs they choose, at any point in their lives. You may never fully understand what life has thrown at people, or why they choose to believe a certain way. Discounting someone's ability to think for themselves simply because of age...well, it's detrimental to everyone involved.

Most young people have a very idealistic view of the world. I won't deny them that; I distinctly remember being that way myself. However, our idealistic views are like a pair of black jeans. At first, they are a rich black color, crisp and sharp. After several dozen washings in the hot water of reality, they fade to a dull charcoal and start fraying around the edges.

Many of the minors here behave in a way that display more maturity than many of the adults here. Frankly, I think you could learn some things from them. Ever since you got here you've been unnecessarily rude and condescending to almost everyone who even disagrees with you. What unavailable said wasn't insulting, rude, or out of line. Your response to her was. It's becoming more and more clear that you're here for confrontation, and to find people to look down on.

Yes, a person can have opinions and beliefs prior to their 18th birthday.
Update: okay, now I see what you're saying about wisdom and yes, wisdom comes with age. I personally don't have any friends under the age of 30, but I don't necessarily rule out the opinions of the young crowd. I don't take these YA discussions too seriously anyway.

What do you consider an adult. I know people in their fifties who are so immature and into themselves they could hardly be considered grow ups.
Equality should have an age put on it.
Yes children can be feminists.

Yes I think so.
Re what you say that you are getting at I think it is reasonable for anyone to consider someone's age when hearing or reading their views about something. Of course it is fair to think that when experience is important.
I don't think it makes any sense to just look at a number and write off someone's views. But you are free to do what you want. It's not my business.

You don't have to be of legal drinking age to believe in equallity and take a dim view of discrimination. Most people that believe in feminism were brought up in egalitarian households.

who are you to judge? as someone in her 20s, i think all perspectives are worth looking at. even if i find them worthless, i still take the time to consider them. some of the dumbest people i know are over the age of 30.
EDIT: i am not a child. i'm in my mid twenties you old hag! are you just jealous because you're all old and bitter? i'm sorry. i don't live with my mom, haven't for years. i work, i pay my own bills, i have my own home. i have a child. i was on my own long before 22. get over yourself.

I think first of all you have to understand what feminists are all about........ and most of them don't anymore.......... it used to be alllllllll about equality, now it's all about hate...........Even Gloria Steinem changed her tune and married........ what a total hypocrite
besides that, you'd have to quit shaving your underarms and legs..... and what boy would take you to the prom if you were all hairy.............
