I have tried to open my Microsoft Word document but it does not want to open.
A popup says that "Microsoft Office Word cannot open this file because it is an unsupported file type".
My document is saved as Documents/Rescue.asd when I carry my pointer over the name.
I have tried just about everything
Please help me open this document!

Try opening Word without trying to open the document. If it has been "rescued", then Word may have saved it for recovery. If this is the case, then when you open Word, it should show it to you, and ask you if you want to recover the file. Say yes, then save it as a .doc.
