Honestly....it stopped being real when everything became an ideology, a political opinion that could be *bought and sold* to the highest bidders among those Have Mores, those cackling madmen we call "Billionaires". -_-
Really, how do you think President Reagan, back in the 1980s, got Mikhail Gorbachev to come to the table and *talk*?
He used a baseball, and the game of it, as a metaphor. He asked Gorbachev, "Do you just want to stick to an ideology, or do you want to *play ball*?" Meaning: do you want to keep on pursuing the whole political angle until it leads you off of the edge of a cliff?
Or would you rather stop doing that now, and do something *real*? Granted, the metaphor isn't perfect--baseball is still a game after all, and games *can* be rigged, but still....
It's not a terribly abstract exercise, is it? It's not something abstract and obtuse and academic. It's a game real people go out to play on a real field with a real ball, gloves and bat.
But yeah. The real world stopped being real when the meme (concept) of "it's all political" infected everything....because politics in itself implies corruption, and eventually complete cooptation (selling out) to the Rich and Filthy.
Hope this helps. -_- Really, we could use less politics, and more problem solving and "playing ball" these days. For everyone, not just the well-heeled rich and the well-connected suck-ups.
