I will tell you something that took me years to learn.
If a guy has a problem, he goes off to struggle with it alone. It is very hard to ask another guy for help and when he does, he wants the other guy to help solve the problem.
If a girl has a problem - she wants to run to her friends and talk about it, .. and talk about it, and never really reach a solution.
Yes it looks funny to a guy to have 20+ questions per day about "When will I start?" followed by 30+ questions per day about "How do I make it stop?". (None of them seem to read the previous day's postings.)
But it's not a guy thing looking for answers, it's a Girl thing where they are trying to share and know they are part of a bigger community.

Women and girls have periods for a reason . If we didn't we won't have children It might seem nasty but it's part of life. Not everything in life is a happy thing. Sometime things that we don't like have to be talked about.
They have a question and feel embarrassed to ask in person. On the web we don't know who they are so they won't be embarrassed. Would you rather they ask and get answers or go around not knowing about their bodies.
