Whats it like?

I have been to many and I may be somewhat biased but it is fantastic. The Mellon Arena is decrepit now but as long as it stays standing it will be a great place to see hockey. It is cozy in the Igloo and there are not many bad seats but the best part of being there is how much the fans get into the games. That place really can get rocking. I bought tickets for my wife and I for 6 games this season. It is money well spent.
So much history in that building, it will be sad to see it go in 2010. You look around and see the Cup banners and the 66 banner, the Pens wall of fame below the luxury boxes and it gives me chills every time.
Also, i may be wrong but I dont think you'll see many
Hockey Arena's having a wave going.

I've been once, last year, went to PITTSBURGH for Thanksgiving, saw the Rangers win the game in OT. It wasn't bad. We had club level seats with our own concessions and bathroom. That was nice. It's older so not alot of bells and whistles but I like the nostalgia of the older buildings. The fans were kind of fun in our area. They have some good young players so it is a good time to make an arena change and bring in the money!

It was awesome to see the Leafs beat Pittsburgh in game 6 in the playoffs in Pittsburgh in 1999.

It's a nice place to watch a hockey game, even the bad seats are pretty good. It can be a cold place in the deep of winter if you are far from the ice due to the massive amount of metal in the structure. I haven't been there since the early 90s but I hear nothing has changed much.

I have been there plenty of times, not only to watch Penguin games, but the WWE goes there and such......
It's pretty nice, its small so therefore, all seats, are decent seats.
It's very electric though, and a family atmosphere, i enjoy it

its awesome. i always go to the pens at caps game. because the caps fans hate the penguins.

I've been to a few, but none in Pittsburgh.
They are a phenomenal team to watch.
