"is there is such a thing as being TOO POLITICALLY CORRECT?? "
Yes, I'd say there is. No sense being uptight about holidays for kids here. -_- Seriously, does anyone really think a *child* is going to be so terribly offended by Santa? Maybe a bit scared sure (he gets a lot of hype), but *offended*?
This really looks like some people have too much time on their hands and too many lawyers or barristers on retainer here. (depending on where "here" is, US or UK)
But....in all fairness, PC does have a purpose.
It reminds people to have some manners and common courtesy towards one another where traditionally and culturally they wouldn't. Truly that is all it is, and for 99 percent of the people out there it is a *total* non-issue.
The "problem", if anything, is that the remaining *one* percent is hyped up in the Media until it looks like the end of the world. And that just ends up convincing people that they *have to* be rude and uncivil towards each other to avoid the dreaded fate of "being PC".
Frankly I think it's sad....didn't this stop being an issue back in what, 1995 or something? ^_^
Just saying...

Yes, there is such a thing. And I think that complaining about Santa Claus is a good example of that,

I think most everything is too politically correct, but thats because we as a nation are overly sensitive.
We dont laugh at our differences, we protect them and try to make it appear as if they dont exist.
People need to learn to laugh at themselves and that if you pretend short-comings dont exist or continually blame it on outsides sources (its everyone else) then you never solve anything.
Thats why I personally feel its called politically correct. Its a way of never addressing the real issue and treating symptoms......

I remember as a kid thinking Santa was calling my sister a whore, but I figured what the hell, as long as I get some presents...LOL.
Seriously, do people really have nothing better to do than suggest Santa be more careful with how he is jolly?

It's madness. They don't even put up the nativity scenes in shopping centres anymore because it may offend someones religion. What a crock of s**t i say.

I agree with K....we are swimming in a toilet bowl of PC.
Our world is becoming so damn sensitive, too damn sensitive if you ask me. It'd only be derogatory if you're a Ho! And they are right, your children shouldn't be able to make any correlation from one to another.
