A letter arrives @ our home, for my wife, addressed to her "maiden name". I have asked her multiple times about her purchasing a second cell phone, she replies, "No". The letter was from a cell phone company, different from our current provider; actually from a Pre-pay company. We have been married for over 10 years. At the same address for about 8 years. Should I be suspicious of this, or count it as mailing error? Help me out...ladies.

well, it might be some junk mail and their system must not be upgraded yet...i've been married for 3 yrs now and im still getting junk mail with my maiden name in it...But this sounds fishy to me...you guys are married for 10 yrs now?..the system should've picked it up by now!..but i don't know it just might be really a glitch or error in the company's side...

I would count it as junk mail. I am a married woman and have been for almost 2 years. I was also married before that and received mail with both my maiden name and my 1st married name. Sometimes junk mail carriers get old names and send it that way. I have even gotten mail with my mothers last name on it (we have differnt last names.)

Was it junk-mail or a letter about a specific acct? I get junk mail all the time for stuff I am not interested in, and in my maiden name for a long time after I was married. If it bugs you, maybe snoop around for a prepayed phone she might be hiding.

Have you seen a different cell phone? She would need to charge it sometime...

I think it was junk mail - when I got married and moved into my husband's home, my mom started getting junk mail sent to our house - we have no reason why and 2 years later it still comes. She doesn't live with us and her name is different then mine but somebody must assume she's there.

You are jumping to conclusions . It was probably in error. Believe it or not i got a new phone number when i moved in to my apartment 12 years ago and for the first several years people were calling my house looking for this lady who had the same name ( first and last name) as me except she was German and i am African America. How's that for conicendence ?

Carries your name for 10 years and then a mailing comes in her maiden name.
Buddy...I'd do some digging into to if I were you.

i would have opened that. cell phone companies or any business would've had to the current resident or something to that effect unless she's doing business with them, how else would they know her maiden name. good luck.

Could have just been junk mail.
