I live in the uk and i'd like to start importing mini moto's from china and re-selling in the uk, but don't know where to start. I've seen various sites on the internet, claiming to be chinese suppliers but, i've also heard a lot of horror stories about people being ripped off. If anyone can help it would greatly appreciated.

Do the rest of us a favour, and forget the whole idea. They aren't legal to be used on the road in the UK, are ridden mainly by knuckle-dragging chavs and manage to give lawful riders of proper motorbikes an even worse name.

I have my own motorcycle and whilst I don;t deal in Chinese bikes, I am not one of those who jumps blindly on the anti Chinese band waggon as they do manufacture some quite passable stuff.

HOWEVER that is not true for any of the mini motos made there. Do yourself a serious favour and do not touch them with a very long pole. They truly are the poorest of the poor, death traps and not even worth the small amount they charge.

There are a couple of good producers in the world, the prime being Blata from the Czech Republic. They, as a company, are legally going after not only the manufacturers of the Chinese copies but also people re-selling and distributing them, in any country. At best you will sell crap at worst you could end up being sued (quite rightly too in my opinion).

Why do you think other people get ripped off?

Because they "don't know where to start", just like you. Importation from the Far East is NOT something to be attempted by a novice.

It's a very bad idea that will cost you a whole load of money, pain and heartache (and the Government is planning to ban mini-motos, anyway. Thank goodness...).

Even though I live in the US I totally agree with the other poster. Stop importing these pieces of junk. They are not legal to ride here either, unless you do it on your own property. They are cheap and break down all the time too and no one can or wants to fix them. Plus there are no parts for them. Stop importing cheap rubbish from China!!!

Leave them in China. They have no place over here. Except perhaps on a bonfire or in a skip.
