The lights in my apartment turn off after about 5 minutes and then turns back on after about 2 minutes. This continues to happen. Any answers?

Sounds like a faulty connection ,socket or even bulb in the ceiling fixture
Heat from the bulb (when its on) can cause it to open up & close again when it cools down.

If these lights are can/recessed lights make sure that you have the correct type and wattage bulb in them. Some can lights have a heat sensor that will trip the light off until it cools down. This is to prevent fires in the fixture or adjoining materials.

it's because the bulb is going to be warm in a while, the contact parts inside the soket makes a open circuit because of the heat. After the contacts cooles back to room temperature it get the connection again... make shure the bulb fits perfectly in its soket, but be carefully and don't use much power, to turn the bulb in its soket, it may be break and harm your hand (like mine) . good luck.

Like Kingsley suggested, you might want to check your bulb. But I'm more inclined to think that there is a problem with the wiring, either in the circuit or the socket.

if it's a fluorescent light fixture, you probably have a bad ballast, which is cutting out when it gets too hot, then goes back on when it cools off.

Change the bulb or make sure it is in tight.
